The formulae for setting the constants in the examples of the application circuits above are as follows :

Constant current limit (100%) setting

When VREF = 1.5V

Ilimit = VREF/5/RF resistance

= 1.5V/5/0.22Ω = 1.36A

Chopping frequency setting

Fchop = Ichop/ (Cchop × Vtchop × 2)

= 10μA/ (200pF × 0.5V × 2) = 50kHz

Timer latch time when the output is short-circuited

Tcem = Ccem × Vtcem/Icem

= 100pF × 1V/10μA = 10μs
