Overview
CD4052 is a 2-way four-to-one analog switch circuit with a common enable input control bit. Each multiplexer has Four independent I/Os (Y0 to Y3), one common I/O (Z) and selection input (A). common enable input The control bits include two select inputs A0, A1 and an active low enable input E.
Each path consists of four bidirectional analog switches, one side of the switch is connected to the independent input/output (Y0 to Y3), and the other side is connected to the to the common input/output (Z).
When E is low, one of the four switches is gated by A0 and A1 (low-impedance on-state). When E is high, the All switches are in high-impedance off state, regardless of A0 and A1.
VDD and VSS are the supply voltages connected to the digital control inputs (A0, A1, and E).
(VDD-VSS) range is 3~9V, analog input and output (Y0~Y3 and Z) can be changed between the highest VDD and the lowest VEE change. (VDD - VEE) will not exceed 9V.
For use as a digital multiplexer, VEE and VSS are tied together (usually ground).
The CD4052 is mainly used in analog multiplex switches, digital multiplex switches and signal gating.
