GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Intel 8274 Multi-Protocol Serial Controller is a microcomputer peripheral device which supports Asynchronous, Byte Synchronous (Monosync, IBM Bisync), and Bit Synchronous (ISOs HDLC, IBMs SDLC) protocols. This controllers flexible architecture allows easy implementation of many variations of these three protocols with low software and hardware overhead.
